Transfer Student Blog Tour & EBOOK | SWAG Giveaway goes to Australia and stops at a Drive In in California!

I thought it would be a great way to welcome my Australian friends to the tour today by stopping by an American Icon, the Drive-In. A Drive-In inspired one of the scenes in TRANSFER STUDENT. So get in the car…let’s go check out some of the real places that inspired the scene. Check out DeeScribeWriting to for the inspirations/challenges of TRANSFER STUDENT & for the EBOOK/SWAG GVAWAY!  CONGRATS TO @red_tigergirl2 today’s winner of a TRANSFER STUDENT EBOOK!

What's playing tonight

The line waiting to get in

Tickets!

I just really love this photo:) Back in the day, they only charged $10 for a whole carload;)

The snack shack I imagined for the Drive-In scene

The projection room...I love old school projectors!

Here's where we park. See the old speaker holders? No need for speakers to hang off your window anymore...now the sound for the movie is played over the radio.

What's playing on the big screen!

Here's a close-up of the Drive-In screen!

Until next time...we say good-by to the Sunset Drive-In in San Luis Obispo, CA

  1. There really should still be more drive-in movie places. So much more fun than just sitting in a theater!! Thanks for giving us all these pictures so I can envision where the characters actually are as I’m reading : )

    • :) I’m glad you stopped by today and happy you like the photos. I had so much fun taking them. I must admit my hubby was a little tired at this point in our trip [& hungry too!] so I had to REALLY convince him to stop and take these on our way home from LA. I’m glad u think they were worth it. ;) I’ll have to tell hubby tonight. There’s something so fun and old school about seeing movies at a Drive-In. Hubby and I saw The Terminator at one in central Illinois when we were first going out:) You have one by you?
